All the 5K patch does is setting the check number to 5000 instead of 500, The total amount of units in a game may not exceed 2^16 which is 65536, Since TA allows for 10 players, that means the absolute maximum number of units allowed per player is 6553, If you are fewer than 10, you can use a higher unit limit, but I have only touched 1000
